Meet our staff
Scott has worked in communications, media evaluation, and academic editing, giving him insight into both media relations and the scholarly setting. He holds a Master in World History from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, majored in Politics at the University of Adelaide, and completed an Arts Honours year in English at the University of Melbourne. He has a strong understanding of not-for-profit imperatives, having served in volunteer roles for several NGOs and media entities. He has a lifelong passion for learning and intellectual inquiry, reflected in both his studies, and such pursuits as teaching and learning languages: he holds a DELE Diploma in C1 level Spanish, and a Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Jodie has more than a decade of experience in the South Australian Government, working for a number of Government Ministers in senior advisory and operational roles. She has extensive experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, policy development and has a talent for optimising complicated administrative systems and managing change. Jodie holds undergraduate qualifications in management and a graduate qualification in public relations.
Dr Shannon Schedlich
Chief Executive Officer
Dr Shannon Schedlich has experience in government, community engagement, universities, change leadership and governance reform. She has held a number of positions across government, including as a senior political adviser and Ministerial Adviser (Education). Shannon holds a doctorate in History from the University of Newcastle and has worked as a sessional lecturer and tutor. She comes to MCERA from the South Australian Cricket Association, where she has worked across community engagement and corporate affairs.
Lucy is an internationally experienced secondary teacher, specialising in geography and the humanities. She is keenly interested in holistic and inclusive education and is a strong advocate for the importance of learning beyond the classroom. Lucy has undertaken action research into Action Learning Sets (a group coaching tool) on extended pieces of work with senior secondary students. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Bristol, and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Sussex. Lucy brings an international perspective to the MCERA team.
